Michael Kors has released a new smartwatch that is designed for women, named Michael Kors Access Sofie. It is a successor of the previous Access model, Bradshaw. There are some notable improvements, such as the slimmer yet more elegant design and the fully circular display. In this article, we will see the detailed comparisons between Michael Kors Access vs Bradshaw to help you choose the best smartwatch for the money!
Size and Design
First of all, if you are a loyal Michael Kors fan, you may have noticed that Michael Kors Access Sofie does not stray from the brand’s typical design. It is a fashionable smartwatch with a metallic construction and gemstones that are put closely together on the bezel. It looks more luxurious, in contrast with Michael Kors Bradshaw’s plain yet modern design. Fortunately, the straps are interchangeable, so you can replace them with leather straps if you prefer something that is less eye-catching. Michael Kors Access Sofie comes with a slimmer, more compact design than Michael Kors Bradshaw. This is definitely a big advantage. Most women prefer a smartwatch that is slim, lightweight, and comfortable to wear. Michael Kors Access Sofie has positive checks on those factors, whereas Michael Kors Bradshaw is not loved by all people due to the wide, chunky design.
There is a big improvement between Michael Kors Access vs Bradshaw in the display section. Michael Kors Access Sofieis equipped with a 1.19-inch AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels. As a comparison, Bradshaw’s LCD screen only has a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels and a pixel density of just under 290 ppi.
The improvement is very noticeable. Michael Kors Access Sofie’s display is sharper and more vivid. The colors are deeper and more accurate. On the other hand, Bradshaw’s display is one of its weakest elements, with low sharpness and poor color quality, despite the good brightness due to the transflective screen. In addition, Michael Kors Access Sofie now finally has a fully circular display, whereas Bradshaw still has that annoying flat-tire display.
In terms of features, Michael Kors Access Sofie is still similar to Bradshaw. It comes with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, which is a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor featuring Cortex A7 cores. The RAM is also similar, 512 MB. They both run Android Wear 2.0. They both run smoothly without any significant lag.
Unfortunately, Michael Kors Access Sofie still requires to be paired with your smartphone in order to fully utilize the tracking capabilities, due to the lack of built-in NFC and GPS. But, to be fair, this smartwatch is not really designed for fitness purposes. It is a fashion smartwatch with some fitness tracking capabilities.
Nevertheless, there is no big change in terms of battery life. Michael Kors seems to design their products to have one-day battery life. Michael Kors Access Sofie is equipped with a standard 300 mAh battery that is recharged with a wireless charging pad. On average, it is able to last for a full day per charge. If you forget to charge it, you can still get a few hours of usage in the morning.
On the other hand, Michael Kors Bradshaw comes with a 360 mAh battery, but the battery life is pretty much similar. It usually lasts for one day and a few more hours.
