Ticwatch S and Ticwatch E are Mobvoi’s Android Wear debut in the market, and they seem to be quite promising. Ticwatch S comes with a sporty design, hence the name, but it is a little more expensive. On the other hand, Ticwatch E is available at a lower price point with more-or-less similar specifications. Below, we will discuss the detailed comparisons between Ticwatch S vs E to help you choose the best smartwatch that can assist you in your daily activities!
Size and Design
Perhaps the most noticeable difference between Ticwatch S and Ticwatch E is the size. If you put the two smarwatches side by side, you can see that Ticwatch S is slightly wider. It has a diameter of 45 mm. The wider size is because of the bezel, which features numerical markings. In addition, the side button has a ‘frame’ which makes the overall appearance looks better. Note that the body is slightly slimmer at 13 mm compared to the E version.
On the other hand, Ticwatch E comes with a much simpler design. It does not have the bezel, and the side button is just there without the frame. The diameter is 43 mm. This model is slightly thicker at 13.55 mm, but you probably won’t notice the difference.
The next difference between Ticwatch S vs E is the strap material. Ticwatch S is equipped with a better TPU strap. It is breathable, as it allows some air circulation for the skin underneath. Hence, it won’t cause the area to sweat very much. It is also great for workouts.
On the other hand, Ticwatch E comes with a regular silicon strap. It is pretty good and comfortable in most cases. But it is not breathable. It may cause the skin to sweat more, and the sweating will make you uncomfortable. This smartwatch is not a good choice for workouts due to the silicon strap.
Both Ticwatch S and TicwatchE are equipped with GPS functionality. However, their sensors are placed differently. The GPS sensor of Ticwatch S is placed in the watch band to allow more accurate tracking. On the other hand, the GPS sensor of Ticwatch E is in the watch body.
In most cases, the difference will not be very noticeable. However, there are some times when Ticwatch S can give you better tracking than Ticwatch E.
Other than those differences, Ticwatch S and Ticwatch E come with similar features. They each feature a 1.4” OLED screen with a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels (287 dpi). They both support multi-touch control, Bluetooth 4.1, and Wi-Fi. Both are armed with scratch-proof glass and IP67 waterproof construction.
In the heart of each device is the MTK MT2601 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU. Each of them comes with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. Their battery life is about 48 hours in normal use, and up to 120 hours in standby.
